“Built Ford Tough”
It's more than a saying, it’s a philosophy that runs deep in the history of Ford truck engineering to help produce America’s popular lineup of dependable Ford pickups. Ford engineers tested the Ranger under grueling conditions to prepare it for the demands of multi-terrain travel. Robots were called in to do the testing when it came to the durability trials on intense road conditions. The lab helped to identify and reduce rattles and squeaks, and to tune suspension parts and body mounts for durability. The Ford Ranger is up to the challenge when it comes to towing heavy loads over hours of steep grades and traveling in off-road conditions. Tow up to 7,500 lbs when equipped with the tow package.
Toughness
Going from mild to wild roads is easy for the Ranger, especially when equipped with the FX4 off-road package, made with all-terrain enthusiasts in mind. It includes tuned off-road monotube shocks, all-terrain tires with aggressive tread, and traction-enhancing electronic locking rear differential. Inside, a cluster screen provides feedback on pitch and roll plus steering angle. Included also are the Terrain Management System and Trail Control providing crucial off-road technology. The electronic locking rear differential locks the rear axle to optimize tracking to both wheels for an improved off-road experience.
Design
The Ford Ranger was designed for capability, not just appearance. Its dynamic twin power dome hood and wide grille are engineered for all-terrain performance. Its body shape shows style and function, with break over and departure angles designed to enable your Ranger to climb hills and clear obstacles.
